Losing weight After Giving Birth

After giving birth, women are usually too tired from caring for a newborn that they don't have enough energy for most things, including exercise. This makes it very unlikely that you will go to the gym or go outside for a run (or even a walk). It's also worth noting that your new child will need to keep you close at all times. This means that you need to find both motivation and time to work out. You'll be glad to know that, in this article, we will talk about a few things that you can easily do from home when you have the time (baby's naptime is great for this) that will help you get back to your pre-pregnancy weight in no time at all. Isn't that great news?

Drawing In: This is a great exercise for women who have just given birth because it helps them lose weight, helps their posture, makes their metabolism better and strengthens your core, abs and back all at once! Position yourself on all fours with your hands directly underneath your shoulders. Pull your abs in and make sure that your neck and spine stay in a single line. Take a breath in through your nose while keeping your back straight and then breathe back out while pulling your belly button in while trying to keep your spine still. Do this twelve times to complete one set and do three sets in a single workout to really work your abs and core. Another exercise proven effective is forearm plank with breathing, for this you get on all fours with your wrists directly under your shoulders. Your next step in this process is to lower yourself until your forearm rests on the floor below you. Now that your forearms are on the floor straighten your legs so that the body will make a straight line. Take a deep breath and slowly let it out as you squeeze your abs and hold the position. The next stage of this exercise is a pushup type movement. Do three sets of these exercises. This exercise will help you strengthen your core and correct your posture.

You probably already know this next exercise called the classic crunch. To do a crunch you simply lie on the ground with hand behind your head and knees bent. Now inhale through the nose and exhale as you tighten your abs as you lift your head and shoulders off the floor. Relax your behind while bringing your hips and ribs toward one another. Slowly return to the starting position. Do as many of these as you can, working towards 20, then 50. Reaching 50 means you have built up your endurance and may want to try adding weight for more challenge.

There you go! These are some of the best ways that a woman can lose weight and get back to her pre-pregnancy size. Use these tips so that you can be sure you will fit into your old clothing after a short time.
